Rapper Tigo B, from Greensboro, North Carolina, takes a unique approach to hip hop, drawing inspiration from his Sierra Leone heritage and pop culture, setting him apart from his contemporaries. His latest single, ‘Where You Come From‘, has a vibe that anyone can relate to.
Reaching the number 1 spot on Shazam in the mid-Atlantic, as well as in both North and South Carolina, ‘Where You Come From’ features DJ Luke Nasty, with upbeat production by GottiRockSolid. The track contains catchy pop stylings as well as piano and synth melodies, laid over a trap-influenced beat. DJ Luke Nasty is a seasoned rap artist, with two Top 5 urban hits, as well as two Top 10 rhythm records.
The video has been directed by Denzel Whitaker, who played the young Zuri in the Marvel film, ‘Black Panther’. The clip matches the song’s professional quality, and opens with Tigo walking into a club, which glows with blue and pink neon. We see scenes of Tigo and girls dancing to the music, before he goes off to a room by himself, where he finds the woman of his dreams by way of a futuristic tablet. Returning to the club, he sings to her the song’s hook, “Baby where’d you come from, they ain’t like you where I come from”. The pair continue to dance, under the haze of the pink and purple lights.
