Matteo Markus Bok is a true teen icon, who’s performed as Simba, in The Lion King at only 9 years of age, hosted ‘Magic English’ on the Disney Junior Channel, and was a finalist on The Voice Kids Germany, as well as performing on ‘Italia’s Got Talent’.
His first single, ‘Just One Lie’ was released in May this year, which he followed with his first tour, and he’s since become a huge star in his home country of Italy, as well as the rest of Europe. Now Matteo is ready to break America, and what better way than with a seasonal song.
‘This Christmas’ is an uptempo and and jolly track and in a similar vocal vein to Justin Bieber’s ‘Mistletoe’, with the big band sound a la Michael Bublé. The track has a sparkling video match, opening on a snow-covered village nestled somewhere in the mountains. After a few texts back and forth, Matteo and a lady friend are soon sheltered from the cold inside a cosy log cabin, where one imagines they’d happily be having fondue by the fire. There’s hot chocolate, and snowball fights, and some glorious shots of the mountains, ski lifts, skiing, snowboarding. In short – everything that goes into making a Christmas classic.
