Lisa had the chance to speak with Peter Cox, lead singer of Go West, who are featured artists on the cruise.

Peter and Richard Drummie first met in 1974, but it was nearly 10 years later that the friends signed their first publishing deal as “Cox and Drummie”, in 1982. They formed Go West in 1983, with ‘We Close Our Eyes’ released in 1985, and climbed to #5 in the UK, and into the top 10 in the USA. The duo followed this success with 3 further UK top 10 hits, ‘Call Me’, ‘Goodbye Girl’, and ‘Don’t Look Down’. Their third album, ‘Indian Summer’, was released in 1992, and included on it the track, ‘King Of Wishful Thinking’, which made its way to the soundtrack of the film, ‘Pretty Woman’, as the opening song.

Peter took time out from Go West in 1993, and the following year relocated to Los Angeles, where he continued as a solo artist, and recorded his eponymous album. He recorded his most recent CD, ‘Riding The Blinds’, in 2012, which was released in 2013. An Americana style album, it’s received a positive reaction.

Go West celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2005 and toured. They “roadtested” material during this from which would become their next album, ‘futurenow’.

Go West’s most recent album, ‘3D’ was released in 3 parts. You can find out more information about Go West from their official website. Peter Cox is online on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and his official website. You can find Go West’s music on Apple Music, Amazon, and Spotify.
