Peppermint Heaven – ‘Stranger Than Fiction’

Peppermint Heaven are back with their new EP, ‘Stranger Than Fiction’, featuring remixes by Lynx and Chords.

With an authentic 80s sound, the track ‘Stranger Than Fiction’ shows Peppermint Heaven’s clear influences from the likes of Depeche Mode and David Bowie. Australian listeners of a certain age will also hear a hint of Iva Davies and Icehouse, but given Davies’ had similar influences, it’s nothing more than coincidental.

We’ve written a fair bit about Peppermint Heaven over the past eighteen months or so, but we never fail to be impressed by their strong 80s groove. The simple synth beats and strong vocals of ‘Stranger Than Fiction’ fill the room with a lush and glorious sound, and easily transports us back to a time and place when things seemed somewhat simpler and less complex than now.

Peppermint Heaven first met in the summer of 2011, and released their debut album, ‘Precious Things’, in January last year. With the EP ‘Stranger Than Fiction’, they’ve teamed up with two of the UKs most in-demand remixers, Lynx and Chords to produce tracks which have been reinvigorated for the dance floor.

You can find Peppermint Heaven online on their official website, Facebook,  Twitter, Tumblr, Google Plus, and  Soundcloud.
