Pop noir artist Katiya Falcone has today released her debut single ‘Lust is Ride Through Hell’.
A beautifully mellow track with a subtle air of nonchalance and underlying darkness featuring her fragile, vulnerable vocals.
The fresh UK artist who’s heavily influenced by Dusty Springfield and Mazzy Star, emerges from the shadows, taking the listener on a journey through her fictional fantasy stories, all capped off with an infectious earworm chorus.
Katiya said,
“’Lust Is A Ride Through Hell’ is about the first stages of falling for someone – when you know it’s not safe or secure. You don’t know if the person feels the same way too, so you feel out of control, uncomfortable, nervous and a little bit crazy.”
‘Lust Is A Ride Through Hell’ is taken from her debut EP, which she has worked on with producer Ed Harcourt, and due out later this year.
Ed Harcourt on working with Katiya said,
“Katiya is a rare breed because she thinks about everything visually, harbouring complex stories and snippets and bringing the darker, more surreal and odder lyrical themes to the table. I honestly had no idea how we managed to make this EP in such a short space of time, but her boundless energy and off kilter visions gave us limitless roads to get lost on. Like all great artists, she is both fearless and vulnerable at the same time! Here’s to the start of something special.”
