Anna introduces herself to us in her own words.

The last few years throughout my life in music I have faced many triumphs and challenges. One topic within music that I feel hasn’t been spoken about so much is the importance of finding the balance between being a businessman/woman, artist performer and trying to stay healthy mentally and physically.

When I first dived into the London music scene with my news songs I carved away at from time travelling the world, I was exhilarated and terrified to delve into the artist/performer part, but mostly the business side. I knew it was imperative to educate myself and partake in this new role, the one just can’t exist without the other.

But I have been surprised at how hard I have been on myself. I later released when I gave my self no time to reflect on all that was going on; always pushing forward, planning, networking, touring, writing and reaching a point where I felt guilty doing anything other that music, I was beginning to suffer. I have a vision, a relentless work ethic and don’t expect other people to create success for me. So it has been so hard to find a line, when really you can keep going 24/7, even with me replying to emails at 1am in the morning!

But after running myself into the ground so to speak, on the other side I have come out so much healthier. Just because I allow myself some time to see friends or have a night off, doesn’t mean I’m wasting time, opportunity etc. It its essential to keeping healthy.

I hold the highest expectations for myself and career, but I realised without a little balance you can jeopardise all that you work so hard for.
