Former frontman for the rock band Element, whose accomplishments include opening for legendary rock bands, Scorpions, and Europe, Kivanc Kilicer has struck the solo path and this year released his first solo album, ‘Gravity’, as well as his EP, ‘Dew On Roses’.

The Turkish singer songwriter found himself exploring various combinations of contrasting tunes, and blending them with a pure, hard rock sound. Kilicer explains:

“Unable to contain the everlasting resource of melody and riff inside of me, I couldn’t just enjoy listening to and covering music. Therefore I decided composing my own in 2005. My main interest has always been a blend of progressive rock and symphony; both of which require special attention on emotions, balance and clarity.”

Kivanc started his own home studio in 2010, having had experience on VSTs and DAWs. This took him to a whole new level of creation, and meant that he could work through the entire music process, from writing the lyrics, recording the instruments, singing the vocals, and completing the mixing.

“It was another level for me where I finally created my first solo tracks at an international scale. A brand new experience, a brand new world.”

Kivanc’s new song, ‘Devil’s Thought’, accompanied by a mini-movie of a music video, is from his new EP, ‘Dew On Roses’. Kivanc feels he’s finally found the sound he’s been looking for all his musical life: a blend of progressive rock and symphonic arrangements. The video tells the horrifying tale of a young woman being pursued by the devil she’s brought upon herself. she hides in her house, until it is burned down; she tries to escape by car – this too proves hopeless. Eventually, she is forced to confront her attacker, while Kivanc is pictured playing loud and hard among the flames.

‘Devil’s Thought’ is available to stream on Spotify, and download from iTunes and Amazon. Find out more about Kivanc Kilicer from his Website, and Facebook.
