Somatic Moon, out of New York City, have released their debut single, ‘Dream’, ahead of their EP, ‘Mess’. It’s an ambient and orchestral record, featuring cello and trumpet, with a vocal that is vaguely reminiscent of Lily Allen and Kate Nash.
Somatic Moon formed in order to create music that drives the listener through a musical journey of emotions, melodies, and musicianship. The band creates absorbing compositions that should appeal to fans of Portishead and Massive Attack. The collective is a trio including Michael Litvinenko, Eve Lesov, and Ricardo Rodriguez. The compositions are written and produced by Litvinenko, and co-written by Lesov and Rodriguez. Lesov’s haunting lyrical style gives the songs their ethereal quality, while Rodriguez’s two dozen album credits ensure his great production skills on his bass.
‘Dream’ has a unique sound stemming from the diverse range of musical experience of each band member.
