OMYO have unveiled their debut single, ‘Lady’, following appearances at Wireless Festival and support from Charlie Sloth on Radio1 Xtra, among others. The song has been hand-picked by New Look as the soundtrack for their forthcoming Autumn/Winter advertising campaign. The song, distributed by Universal Records, will be released on July 15.
OMYO, an acronym of “Our Music, Your Opinion” comprises William Edward and Tom McCorkell, who have been performing together ever since they made a bet about writing a song, one New Year’s Eve. They found their sound in a mix of infectious music and synth-inspired urban pop, and have from there gone on to play the UK festival circuit, including a set at Wireless Festival. In addition to his OMYO responsibilities, William Edward has managed to hold down a modelling career, working for brands such as Nike. Both members of the band have now been signed to the prestigious Wilhelmina Models Celebrity Division, alongside such artists as Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato.
‘Lady’, co-written by William and Tom, is a tropical summer jam, with infectious hooks and a soft hitting chorus. Its pop-friendly vibe and earwormy sound will be sure to feature on many a party playlist this summer.
