Growing up on the London/Kent borders in Bexleyheath, Kelly Pepper’s talent was evident from an early age. She began songwriting at the age of 13, after enrolling on several songwriting and development classes, including PPT (Polo Piatti Management).
A singer songwriter who’s written for Matrix & Futurebound and Sigma, Kelly Pepper is the protege of drum and bass producer, Ray Keith. Kelly’s charted in the Top 20 Music Week charts with her first three singles, ‘Believe In Me’, ‘Drop The Bomb’, and ‘Koh Samui’. The video for ‘Koi Samui’ hit 20,000 views in its first week on VEVO, and found considerable radio support from DJ Target on BBC1 Xtra, and DJ EZ on KISS FM.
Kelly’s latest release is ‘Wishing’, her take on the classic 70s hit from Rose Royce, ‘Wishing On A Star’. Produced by Drifta, who’s worked with Kelly on her previous releases, it’s a gorgeous track capitalising on her considerable vocal range – an incredible six octaves – and combining it with a fast paced syncopated rhythm perfect for the dance floor. In an recent interview with Maximum Pop, Kelly described her music as “DnB vibes, a little bit of trance, a pop edge and big hooks and vocals” – ‘Wishing’ has all of this, and then some.
‘Wishing’ is available to preorder from iTunes and is set for release on March 18 It precedes Kelly’s EP set for release this year.
