JUPE – ‘Rocket’

behindscenes1

Dublin five piece JUPE formed in late 2006 when Tim Knight, who had been performing solo gigs as a singer-songwriter throughout Dublin, advertised online for interest in forming a band. Drummer Brendon Rennie, who had already been on the cover band scene, saw the ad, and the pair met, and lay down the bare bones of the band which was to become JUPE. Sharing a similar taste in music and a determination for success, the pair are the driving force behind the group, which also includes Voodoo Jonesy on Bass, Keyboardist Jeff O’Callaghan, and Kevin Rowe on Guitar.

JUPE has had a very successful year so far. Signing with US label Perfection Records, they have also shared the stage with Mumford and Sons, Toto, and were named as the “Most Played Independent Act” on Irish Radio in 2014 by UTV.

With a sound that’s 3 parts The Script, 1 part U2 and all the parts impassioned Rock, JUPE’s new single, ‘Rocket’, is set for release on 3 August. It’s a song about following your dreams, not being swayed by those around you who would pull you down – shooting for the stars – ‘This is our time, this is night’.

Check out JUPE on their official website, on Twitter, FacebookYoutube and Soundcloud.
