The Avon Guard – ‘Forget’

The Avon Guard2

Dominic Silvani and Andy Mitty have been close friends for 20 years and for the first time, the duo have made a record together.

Vocalist Dominic was previously the singer and lyricist for 90s Midlands band, ‘Penelope’s Web’, who released a single, ‘Potboiler’, on Cherry Red Records. Andy was the frontman for ‘Transistor’, an indie glam band, based in Camden. Together they form ‘The Avon Guard’, with Dominc taking the lyrics and vocals, and Andy covering music, artwork and photography.

As a debut, ‘Forget’ is brilliant, testament to the combined talents of the pair, and a shame it’s taken 20 years for them to get to this point. Sounding like cross between Nick Cave and Lloyd Cole, ‘Forget’ is definitely worth it.

‘Forget’ is out on June 12. Find The Avon Guard on Facebook.
