Cosby shine with ‘Summer Gold’

Cosby1

Cosby are a trio from Richmond, Virginia in the US, consisting of brothers Chris and Chip Cosby, and drummer and percussionist Mike Levinson. Formed in 2012, the trio’s very own brand of upbeat synth pop with a 1980s flavour is starting to make an impact both sides of the Atlantic.

Influenced by the likes of Tears for Fears, Aha, Duran Duran and The Pet Shop Boys, they combine anthemic melodies, smooth harmonies, driving guitar hooks, ethereal synth layers and dance beats to great effect on their latest EP ‘Summer Gold’, which is mixed and mastered by producer Andreas Magnusson.

Due for release on the 11th May, lead single ‘Heartracer’ is a fast paced, energetic song with a pulsating chorus, that typifies the quality of the EP and is complemented by an arcade game-influenced video that  is a real treat to watch.

About the author

There’s a lot of music out there - good music. At Essentially Pop our remit is that we cover music that deserves to be heard, with a particular focus on independent artists. That doesn't mean we won't cover your old favourites - rather we hope to give you some new favourites as well.

We no longer accept unpaid PR agency work. We believe the creative arts have value, and this includes writing. As always, we will write about artists who contact us - or who we contact - for free - but we can no longer work free of charge for PR agencies. We work hard, we put in a lot of hours writing, and we ask that you respect that. Contact us for our very reasonable rates.
