One Direction Cafes – What Next?

One-DirectionJapan’s café scene has always been one step ahead of the rest of the world’s, with its myriad of cat cafés, dog cafés and anime cafés lining the streets of some quarters of Tokyo. But, according to reports from the Daily Star, the newest kid about to arrive on the café block could be the most exciting yet. Especially if you’re a fan of a certain cheeky British and Irish five piece pop sensation.

Yes, One Direction are to have their own chain of coffee shops.

Described as a place for fans of the chart topping group to meet and hang out with other fans while being serenaded by their idols’ music and images, the cafés would be part social hub, part gift shop. The first café is reported to be opening in Shibuya, Tokyo as soon as this month, with further branches expected in London, Sydney, and other worldwide locations if the venture is successful.

Sources speaking to the Daily Star commented: “It [the café chain] could become one of the group’s biggest money spinners if it takes off… Everything linked to One Direction equates to success at the moment.”

With the way the band’s pop up shops have flourished, we don’t doubt fans will be queuing round the block for their Little Things latte or Up All Night espresso.
