Commemorating the tenth anniversary of his groundbreaking landmark release, ‘Acid Rap’, Chance the Rapper sold out Brooklyn’s Barclays Centre in an incredible performance alongside stars like Joey Bada$$ and Vic Mensa that left fans across New York City stunned. Following an event of similar magnitude at his home city of Chicago’s United Centre some nights before, Chance defied expectations once again in another show for the ages.
On Wednesday, it was announced that the Japanese girl group ATARASHII GAKKO! will be making their way across the Pacific Ocean to debut in a blockbuster tour of North America, where they will perform across Mexico, the USA, and Canada. Known in Japan as Atarashii Gakkou no Leaders (Leaders of the New School), the group made their worldwide debut in January 2021, with the single ‘Nainainai’, but up until now, haven’t performed in the West – something that changes coming November 7th.
The world-famous cartoon characters, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, joined us in the real world on August 6 to watch a little bit of football, visiting Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to watch Hotspur take on Ukrainian team Shakhtar Donetsk (the former beating the latter, 5-1). This is one of several parts of a collaboration between the TMNT and Hotspur, who have partnered with Paramount to promote the iconic turtle quartet’s newest movie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, which debuted in cinemas last week, on the 2nd of August.
Last week, on the 4th of August, Australian superstar Delta Goodrem released her latest single, titled ‘Back To Your Heart’, on major streaming platforms. The song is her first release in 2 years, following up her 2021 album, ‘Bridge over Troubled Dreams’. She also announced a headline tour across the UK to commemorate the 20th anniversary of her debut album, ‘Innocent Eyes’, which starts in Glasgow on August 22nd.
Yesterday, on August 2nd, American singer-songwriter Finneas announced his first ever UK headline show will be coming later this month, on the 30th. Although Finneas has enjoyed a great deal of success through his short time in the industry, he had never headlined a show until now, only acting as a supporting performer at shows like Coachella, and working with artists such as Billie Eilish (his sister), Ringo Starr, Justin Bieber, etc. Coming off of production work on Eilish’s latest single, ‘What Was I Made For?’, which featured in ‘Barbie’ and hit #2 on the UK Singles chart, Finneas continues his hot streak with this new tour.
ABBA, one of the most successful pop groups of all time, have announced that, for the first time in 40 years they are back, with a revolutionary new concert that will see Agnetha, Björn, Benny and Anni-Frid performing digitally with a live 10-piece band, in a purpose-built arena in London from May 27th 2022, and a brand new studio album.
It’s crazy to think that 2021 marks 35 years since Award-winning 80s pop icons Go West cracked the top 5 with their debut single, ‘We Close Our Eyes’. To commemorate the anniversary, Go West, along with very special guests Cutting Crew, will tour a string of UK live shows in May next year. The tour will also feature a full orchestra.
