Sun & Flesh – ‘Hell Is People’

It’s not enough for Brooklyn hard rockers Sun & Flesh to simply live by Sartre’s affirmation that “hell is other people”‘ – in their eyes it’s everyone, at least so far as their latest single, ‘Hell Is People’, is concerned, and they don’t even exclude themselves in that condemnation.

Sun & Flesh – ‘Bored’

There’s a lot of aggression involved in living in Brooklyn. You all live on top of each other, and it creates a lot of hate: drivers hate pedestrians, who hate cyclists – who in turn complete the circle by hating the drivers…Sun & Flesh know that anger all too well, but they have also chosen to not let it twist them, and instead, have taken the energy from all that aggression, and risen above it, making fast and furious music, anthems of disenchantment, as it were, providing a voice for everyone. Their latest song, ‘Bored’, is the perfect example of this.

Sun & Flesh – ‘Dig In Deep’

Sun & Flesh know that hard rock is all about making sharp snaps between clean and dirty sounds; the juxtaposition of heavy and light, comfort and terror that makes the best rock songs, well, rock. The band’s very name does it too – the comfort giving sun in congruence with the ominous sounding flesh.
