Singer-songwriter, and women’s advocate, EMM uses her powerful vocals and edgy lyrics, to showcase her point of view. A producer, who is also a classically trained multi-instrumentalist, EMM has a hand in every instrument on every track, every word she sings, and every melody you hear. She is also helping to change the woeful statistics of women in music, which currently stands at around 5% of producers in the industry today being female.
EMM has performed around Los Angeles to audiences in the largest arenas, and small intimate club gatherings. Her social media following is growing by the day, and her most music video, ‘FREEDOM’, has garnered more than a million views.

Lisa spoke with EMM about her life, her music, and what she stands for.

It’s Mid-March But We Speak To Late July About Her Life, Inspirations, And Music

Late July is the nom de plume of Nicole Simone, a singer songwriter with a lot to offer. Originally from Toronto, Canada, she spent much of her childhood in Del Mar, California, leading her to consider herself bi-coastal, Despite her stage name, Late July’s month of preference is actually October. Late July’s recent single, ‘Calling To The Moon’, was released in Late January, and comes with a music video which was shot in Bronson Canyon, in Griffith Park, Los Angeles, which is probably most famous for being the location of the Bat Cave, in the 1960s ‘Batman’ TV series.
As part of her series of interviews with Los Angeles artists, Lisa had a chat with Late July and asked her some questions.

Neil Arthur, Blancmange Superstar, Talks With Essentially Pop

Blancmange, the hugely successful British electronic band have a new album and a tour to go with it. Kicking off in Scotland on May 1st and working their way across the U.K. to finish in October. To go with the tour they have a new album ‘ Mindset’ which releases on May 22nd. Blancmange music has been used in so much recent music by La Roux, LCD Sound System and Hot Chip. So influential is the band and their music that electronic superstar Moby described the, as “the most underrated electronic band of all time”, high praise indeed. Since Stephen Luscombe was forced by illness to stop touring or recording after 2011’s ‘Blanc Burn’, the band’s evolution has continued with Neil Arthur at the helm and Essentially Pop were lucky enough to chat with him this week about the new album, the tour and even ABBA, who’s ‘Day Before You Came’ they superbly covered. It’s an honour to get a glimpse at what motivates one of our own electronic superstars.
