John Philbrick is stepping up to bring to the fore all those session musicians, backing vocalists, and unsung songwriters. The LA based producer and songwriter, who’s best known as a session guitarist, trained at the Berklee School Of Music, is incredibly well connected, and that’s how he joined forces with collaborators Justin Gariano, Dusty Schaller, and vocalist/keyboardist Steve Maggiora, on his debut album, ‘If You Say So’. The album is not just an homage to his network of talented friends, but also his broad range of influences. The album, which contains Van Halen-esque riffs, and bluesy dance-along classics, was mixed and mastered by Grammy-winners Ross Hogarth and Richard Dodd, respectively, and serves as a showcase for Philbrick’s eclectic guitar style.
