Papi Shiitake – ‘Enjoy The View’

Papi Shiitake is the brainchild of Young Tuxx, best known as the frontman of Brooklyn band, Best Behaviour. The project sees him collaborating and co-writing with his long time friend,  Ryan Sieloff. The pair unite the East and West coasts of the USA, and incorporate their distinct styles, with Sieloff’s 60s-inspired dreamscapes, and Young Tuxx’s tales of optimistic loneliness. Together they create an alt-surf frock world which comes unfiltered from their creative minds.

Lauren Hulbert – ‘Gone In One’

Lauren Hulbert, from Oakland, California, has been keeping her audiences spellbound for years now, with her enchanting combination of folk, alterative country-rock, and atmospheric semi-acoustic pop. Her folk arrangements are raw and real, drawing attention to her thoughtful lyrics, carefully considered melodies, and her stunning vocals. Lauren’s latest single, ‘Gone In One’, follows on from her 2017 release, ‘Beneath The Soil’, and comes ahead of her new album, ‘Superbloom’. On top of all that, the track is accompanied by her first proper music video.

Pennan Brae – ‘Crashland’

Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Pennan Brae is right up there alongside such classic rock and blues storytelling songwriters as Elton John, Muddy Waters, BB. King, and Elmore James. The guitarist is also a screenwriter and filmmaker, and loves to poke fun at and celebrate the sound of the 80s. His latest single, ‘Crashland’, is the lead track from his album, ‘The Astronot’, which accompanies his film of the same name.

Gusty – ‘Time Ran Out’

‘Time Ran Out’ is the debut single for Gusty, the latest project for designer and creative director Justin Smith, who’s been at the forefront of such bands as The Inside. Recently signed to Dowd Records, the artist has a deep love of hip-hop, indie, and British music, and has been writing his own material in anticipation of finding the perfect collaborator. That he has, in the form of Jon Sortland – a name regular readers of EP will no doubt be familiar with by now – of The Shins, and TLA. Sortland is a longtime friend of Smith’s, and was enlisted to record and produce the single.
