The Gray Vines – ‘See Me’

New Jersey is known as the home of countless world-renowned artists; Springsteen, The Jonas Brothers, Frankie Valli, Paul Simon, Jon Bon Jovi and Whitney Houston among many others. The state also has a profoundly vibrant independent music scene, and it’s this underground movement in the clubs, bars, and basements which provides many young and inspired artitsts doing their thing. The Gray Vines are up there with the best of them, and have recently released ther new single, ‘See Me’.

Jane N’ The Jungle – ‘One Time’

Jane N’ The Jungle are certainly making a name for themselves with their unique blend of 90s style alt and modern rock. The Phoenix Arizona trio, who formed back in 2013, have already graced the pages of Essentially Pop several times in 2017 alone, most notably with their singles, ‘Killed Someone’, and ‘Faded Stars’. Now they’ve released their final instalment for the year, ‘One Time’; a pared down ballad which gives the listener a deeply personal look at the band.

The Begowatts release ‘Grande Charade’

Crafting a distinctive blend of rock and roll which is rooted in deep 70s grooves with a modern aesthetic, The Begowatts came together in 2012 in Madison, Wisconsin. The band, who comprise David French on lead guitar and vocals, Ben Tofflemire on rhythm guitar, Aaron Androsky on bass and percussion, and Dan Carpenter on drums, honed their live performance and perfected their sound through touring relentlessly, with the result that they built up a huge buzz across the Midwest.
