It seems a little bit ridiculous to be reviewing Christmas albums in October, but given that it’s snowed in parts of the UK over the weekend, perhaps it’s exactly the right time. It certainly felt like Christmas when I was reviewing Engelbert Humperdinck’s new seasonable album, ‘Warmest Christmas Wishes’, The Hump’s first Christmas album in almost forty years. The new release is set to come out on November 16.

Byron Bay school friends Parcels relocated to the creative hub of Berlin to further their musical journey. Now signed to Kitsune/Because, the band won a legion of fans with their early EPs, which showcased a compelling electro sound that was as forward thinking as it was retro sounding. Citing Beach Boys, Chic, and Steely Dan amongst their primary influences, the band’s self-titled debut album has a clear seventies feel, but does it hold enough weight within its 12 tracks to pack a powerful punch for international success?
