The Mayan Factor – ‘Warflower’

When The Mayan Factor’s lead singer Ray Schuler – known as Ray Ray to their fans – died unexpectedly in 2011, it wasn’t expected that the Baltimore band would carry on. They did go on hiatus in the wake of Ray’s death, but eventually answered the pleas of the international legion of devotees, and they reunited. Now the surviving members of The Mayan Factor have come together, to release archival material featuring Ray Ray’s performances, and also to create new music. Their song, ‘Warflower’, falls into the former category, and is a song first recorded by the band with Ray Ray back in 2003.

Superstar country singer-songwriter Chris Stapleton joined Justin Timberlake on his new song ‘Say Something’ released today, with their collaboration following their famous performance of Chris’ version of George Jones’ ‘Tennessee Whiskey’, and Justin Timberlake’s ‘Drink You Away’ at the 2015 CMA awards, which helped launch Chris into the music stratosphere. The striking one-take music video/short film directed by Arturo Perez Jr, dropped this week and sees Chris join Justin towards the middle of the video, it was an instant hit with Rolling Stone describing it as “stunning”.
