Ute Lemper is legendary, on both stage and screen. This incredible vocalist and renowned songwriter played Sally Bowles to great acclaim in the original Paris production of ‘Cabaret’, winning theĀ MoliĆØre Award in 1987 for Best Newcomer, as well as the Olivier Award in 1998 for Best Actress In A Musical for her role of Velma in the revival ‘Chicago’, which saw her perform in both London and New York. She recently released her take on ‘Mack The Knife’, the song composed byĀ Kurt Weill,Ā with lyrics byĀ Bertolt Brecht,Ā for their 1928 music drama,Ā ‘The Threepenny Opera’.
