Released on the 15th of January this year, ‘On My Own’ is the soulful pop anthem from London-based artist, Vianne.
The single is the second track from Vianne’s upcoming EP, ‘Time Passes’, set for release later this year.
‘On My Own’ is available to stream and download here.
With elements of pop, soul, and R&B, ‘On My Own’ takes a deep dive into the theme of reclaiming independence, while examining the idea that personal worth and potential should be valued well beyond the confines of a relationship, and captures that moment where the singer finds strength in standing on their own.
Written during recording sessions for the ‘Time Passes’ EP, in collaboration with producer Jacob Lobo, the song unsurprisingly had its genesis in the aftermath of a breakup, and, what started as an emotional element, soon became a cathartic healing journey. The process signified a milestone in Vianne’s own path to self-confidence and clarity.
Raised between the US and Bulgaria, Vianne started making music at a young age, and used songwriting and her own voice as tools to help process her many emotions. Taking early inspiration from jazz and soul, Vianne soon found an affinity for contemporary R&B and pop. While her diverse upbringing has had an influence on her sound, it’s London, where she feels most at home, that has had the most profound effect on her music.
Vianne released her debut EP, ‘Blue’, in 2023, which was received with critical acclaim for its warmth and emotional honesty. With ‘Time Passes’, she explores themes of independence, reflection, and self-trust, and if ‘On My Own’ is anything to go by, it’s sure to be received as well as her previous EP.
‘On My Own’ is out now and is available to stream and download here. You can find out more about Vianne and her music online on Instagram, Facebook, Spotify, and Apple Music.
