‘Tell Me Where You Come From’ was released on Dover Street Records, and was commissioned by Amazon for their Black History Month campaign, “Black History Is Me”. A celebration of vibrant energy and incredible storytelling, ‘Tell Me Where You Come From’ sees Nomad X fuse pop, afro, and rock rhythms, with a non-stop groove and massively infectious melodies.

‘Tell Me Where You Come From’ was produced by Nyne, and the track is an anthemic reflection of the positivity and energy associated with Black History Month, and is empowering in its promotion of identity and unity. Additionally, Electro Funk artist, DJ Kader has crafted a signature remix, featuring his fat baselines, and there’s also an Afrobeats remix, that further amps up the Afro sound already present in the original.

Matt Parks

Nomad X first formed in 2022 as part of a London collective, embodying a “nomadic mentality”, that is, anywhere in the world can be home if you embrace your connections in the present moment. Alazar Kidanu and Matt Parks bonded over their shared experience of growing up across different continents, and recognised that this deeply influenced their sound and identity.

Nomad X’s inspiration comes from the likes of Michael Jackson, as well as The Rolling Stones, 60s rock, and cultural roots and influences such as Teddy Afro, and Burna Boy. The duo’s first single, ‘Man On A Boat‘, was featured in the documentary, ‘Beyond The Beach: The Hell And The Hope‘.
