Jedward To Perform At Reading And Leeds Festival – Headlining Sunday Lineup On Climate Live UK Bus Stage

It’s been a long time coming, but finally Ireland’s favourite twins will be performing at the UK’s twin music festival. Jedward will be making their Reading and Leeds Festival debut this year, on Sunday August 27, when they headline the Climate Live Youth Climate Bus Stage.

Climate Live is a global youth-led charity, whose aim is to harness the power of music, in order to engage a new audience in the climate movement. The organisation hosts a solar-powered pink bus stage at Reading and Leeds every year – alternating between the separate venues. This year they will be at Leeds.

It’s no wonder they’ve asked Jedward to perform – the Irish duo have long been advocates for social justice and change, and over their 14 year career have spoken on such issues as Black Lives Matter, the homeless, masking and vaccination to prevent the spread of Covid-19, trans rights, gay rights, and women’s rights, as well as many. many more.

In recent years Jedward have built up a huge following on social media, in particular their TikTok and Instagram profiles, where particularly throughout the Covid-19 lockdowns they kept up the spirits of their followers with their upbeat videos and by sending uplifting direct messages.

Jedward made waves at the Eurovision Song Contest this year, which was held in Liverpool, UK, on behalf of Ukraine. They performed two shows at EuroClub, as well as an incredible crowd favourite performance in the Euro Village on the day of the Eurovision final. Additionally they were the hot interview target, with many in the press fighting to speak to them – or at least get a selfie.

Jedward, real names John and Edward Grimes, have 4 albums under their belts so far, and are set to release their 5th later this year. Perhaps those lucky people in the audience at Leeds will get to hear some of their new tracks before anyone else?

Are you going to the Reading and Leeds Festival this year? Are you looking forward to seeing Jedward there? Let us know in the comments!
