‘Purito’ Is The Culturally Enriched Debut Single From POPITO

Released on May 12, ‘Purito’ is the debut single from Nigerian artist, POPITO. The track is out via Huzzle Records, with POPITO their latest signing.

‘Purito’ translates into English as “We Outside”, and is an uplifting track that is filled to the brim with catchy Afrobeat rhythms. Bringing wholesome sunshine vibes with every note, ‘Purito’ takes inspiration from a range of musical cultures, including Nigerian and Ghanaian music, which he’s fused with a Congolese Makosa tune. All this is wrapped up in South African Amapiano rhythms, the style which will be instantly recognisable to anyone who’s listened to the music of Ladysmith Black Mambazo. It’s a pan-African track that will appeal to fans of all musical styles.

With his gentle, soothing vocals, POPITO will bring a smile to your face as he sings a song about partying with the one you love. Nothing else matters – it’s just all about two people dancing in the moonlight.

Born Ebuka Jude Ezerioha, in Ijanikin, a neighbourhood located in the Oto-Awori district of Ojo, Lagos State, Nigeria, POPITO has made a name for himself as a producer and multi-faceted instrumentalist. He’s worked with the likes of Davido, Wizkid, Orezi, Timaya, Yc, Teniola, Flavor, Skales and Baudex, who have recognised his talent as an instrumentalist, particularly piano and drums. He’s best known however as a producer and sound engineer. Now, since signing with Huzzle Records, POPITO opens up to a wider range of listeners to discover his recording and performing talents.

‘Purito’ is out now and can be streamed and downloaded here. You can find out more about POPITO and his music online on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
