Released today, ‘Illuminate’, featuring the stunning vocals of Dublin-based artist Brí, is the new single from BENJAMYN. The single is out via BlueTide Music and is available to stream on Spotify.
An indie-pop/electronic collaboration, ‘Illuminate’ layers the lush vocals of both Brí and BENJAMYN over fluid synths and heavy hitting beats. The rhythms increase with a veritable incandescence, insisting on the listener’s attention, while the artists tell the story of being optimistic in the face of life’s challenges.
The cohesiveness of the track and the chemistry between the artists is undeniable, and is all the more incredible when you realise they worked together virtually, with each writing and recording their part of the song from their own studio set ups, and all being brought together by BENJAMYN’s production.
Speaking of the collaboration, BENJAMYN said,
“I was buzzing to work with Brí on this track. It all came about so naturally after she heard an earlier version of the beat, and when we spoke I knew she would be perfect for it. Once we started writing the song together it really came into its own. I think we both felt the same vibe from the beginning, and I leveraged our ideas with the production as best I could. I can’t wait for people to hear it and feel like they’re lighting up.”
Brí adds,
“I’m so excited to release our song Illuminate. I heard the early beginnings of Ben’s beat on Instagram. I was so compelled to write a song to it that I messaged him straight away; luckily he was up for a co-write. Both of us were going through our own ‘uphill battle’ at the time. Illuminate fuelled us to overcome those struggles and we hope it does the same for you.”
BENJAMYN and Brí will be performing at Whelan’s Dublin on July 14, where ‘Illuminate’ will make its live debut, alongside solo material from the artists, as well as live sets.
