Fresh from the Heavyweight action of the weekend and as people speculate about what the next Heavyweight pairing might be, Live At Scorrier House, the unique one day festival lovingly known as LASH, has beaten all those promoters by announcing their very own heavyweight double bill of headliners. If you were going to visit an incredible festival taking place in stunning Cornwall, then you really couldn’t ask for more of an incentive than last night’s big news.
Announcing these two brilliant headline acts will make this one-day festival with camping a must have ticket for the August Summer bank holiday weekend. In the blue corner, coming out of London, is one of the most influential forces in dance music. Formed in 1997 is the Grammy nominated duo of Tom Findlay and Andy Cato who together make up the amazing and innovative sound smiths Groove Armada. In the red corner, also coming out of London, are the pioneers of Trip Hop, featuring one of the truly brilliant female vocalists in Skye Edwards, that is Morcheeba. All of this will take place in the gorgeous grounds of the Scorrier House Estate in Redruth, Cornwall which makes it perfect for a day of music followed by heading off to the beach to catch the inevitable bank holiday sunshine.
Since debuting in 1997, Groove Armada have proven to be one of the most influential forces in dance music by exploring a multitude of sounds and achieving the holy grail of combining critical acclaim with commercial success. Their exclusive summer performance at LASH will perfectly show how a band can create such diversely brilliant works like ‘I See You Baby’ and ‘At The River’. It will definitely be a weekend for superstylin’ with this announcement.
Morcheeba are a global export. Their chilled electronic organic sound has been taking them worldwide since they emerged in 1996 pioneering the sound of Trip Hop. Their definitive album ‘Big Calm’ took them global and they haven’t looked back. Skye Edwards, lead vocalist, has cemented herself as a female icon. Together with Ross Godfrey, their last album ‘Blackest Blue’ was released last year to huge critical acclaim.
Joining the party in August will be award winning Drum N Bass act Dr Meaker and contemporary brass beats band Tuba Libres with lots more DJ sets to be announced. It really will be a day to remember and a great way to draw the Summer to a close.
