‘Country Sound’ By Brent Saba Does Exactly What It Says On The Tin

If your music has a country sound then you may as well name a song that. Brent Saba has taken it one step further, and his debut EP, released on 18 March, is also named ‘Country Sound’, and we’re loving it.

If we’re going to get technical about it, ‘Country Sound’ is probably more accurately described as “soft-rock-beach-country”. It’s instantly appealing, and incredibly catchy – you’ll be hitting replay the moment the song ends (and we can tell you this from experience).

Opening with energetic guitars, complemented by percussion, it’s not long Saba fills the track with his enthusiastic vocals. The track serves as a textbook description of all the elements required for a country song – you’ve got a flatbed truck, crickets in the creek-bed, crickets in the back, a warm summer evening, the singer and his girl sharing a good time. It’s here that the track potentially gets meta – Brent and his lady friend are dancing to their favourite country song, while they themselves are in another country song. We’re loving it, and we reckon you will too.
