Sedenstrum Releases Latest Single, ‘Tula’

‘Tula’ is the new single from Florida based singer songwriter Sedenstrum. Originally from California, the artist has been writing and featuring on rap based tracks for the past 10 years, but is now focusing on a more acoustic style.

‘Tula’ takes its inspiration from the life story of trans model, Caroline Cossey. who while working as a model, under the name of Tula, appeared in magazines such as Australian Vogue, and Harper’s Bazaar. She was a Page 3 model for The Sun, and appeared in Playboy. She also appeared as an extra in the 1981 James Bond film, ‘For Your Eyes Only’, after which she was outed as transgender by The News Of The World. The incident caused Caroline to contemplate suicide.

‘Tula’ is an upbeat, somewhat calypso flavoured track, and magnificently celebrates Caroline’s life. Although lyrically simple, Sedenstrum’s vocals are rich and powerful, and the instrumental accompaniment is catchy and quite lovely.
