The London based singer-songwriters have performed alongside the likes of Olly Murs, Ella Eyre, Paloma Faith, and Ed Sheeran, on some of the biggest stages in Europe at some of the most well-known festivals and events, and have more coming up in 2021.  They have even had a number 9  hit on the Music Week Commercial Pop Chart with their song, ‘Supersonic’, They’re eagerly trying to get that number 1 with this new EP.

Franklin Lake have recorded their at the famous Abbey Road Studios, working with some of the best producers in the music industry.

The ‘Taking Over EP’ follows from their single ‘The Tide’, which is one of the tracks to feature. The remaining five are, ‘Fighter’, ‘Stronger’, ‘Glad We Met’, ‘Taking Over’, and a rare acoustic version of ‘Fighter’.

Speaking in an interview, when asked what Franklin Lake wanted people take away from the albm, Jude Read said, “We want people to listen to our Music over, and over again.”

Bandmate TayTay Starhz added, when asked about  the inspiration behind ‘Taking Over’, “We have worked very hard to create timeless pop numbers rather than sticking to the same sounds that is already out there.”

‘Taking Over’ is such a good, poppy song, where they are coming to the end of an era. The song has the boys personal charm to it, which will make people fall in love with the lyrics and their cheeky vocals. My favourite lyric from the song is ‘girls like you, don’t go for guys like me’. Taking Over’ has a catchy backing sound, additionally with catchy vocals. It is a feel-good song, making you want to dance along. The other songs on the EP are ones fans will be very familiar with, so they’ll be able to sing along and reminisce on the tracks on Franklin Lake’s journey. The whole EP- will bring a smile to your face.
