The Essential Advent Calendar: December 19 – Wendi Harriott’s ‘Simply Christmas’ Is Filled With Classics

Door number 19 sees the wonderful Wendi Harriott, and her Christmas album, ‘Simply Christmas’.

We first met Wendi a few weeks back when she sang support for Rebecca Ferguson at Boisdale, Canary Wharf, and we loved her sweet, soulful voice. So when we realised she had released an entire Christmas album, we had to add it to our Essential Advent Calendar!

‘Simply Christmas’ comprises 9 beautiful Christmas tracks, sung in Wendi’s inimitable style. Our favourite is ‘O Holy Night’ – which is yours?

Wendi might be familiar to people from her performance on The Voice in 2018, where she wowed everyone with her rendition of ‘Satisfaction’, made famous by The Rolling Stones. Aside from Rebecca Ferguson, Wendi has provided backing vocals for the likes of Jennifer Hudson, Rod Stewart, and The Killers, and also works as a singing coach. Wendi can currently be seen in action as The Empress Of China at Stag Theatre, Sevenoaks, in their Aladdin Panto. See here for further information.
