Door number 12 and we open to a return from Ingrid Michaelson! This time she’s joined by Grace VanderWaal, singing ‘Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree’.
Originally recorded for Ingrid’s album, ‘Songs For The Season’, on which she enlisted a 35 piece symphony orchestra, in order to capture the nostalgic big band feel of the 1940s and 50s, the song is a marvellously rich and memorable cover of the classic.
Grace VanderWaal’s star is very much on the rise, and she’s put her origins on America’s Got Talent way behind her. Ingrid and Grace performed this track on ‘Live With Kelly And Ryan’ last year, and it was met with great acclaim. She toured with Imagine Dragons over that summer, and has just released her EP, ‘Letters Vol. 1’, last month.
The single is accompanied by another animated video, this time using stop motion animation, and featuring what appear to be feathered tortoises and their friends, who all get together to put on an incredible Christmas, with music supplied by a record playing Ingrid and Grace.
