Science Of The Lamps Releases Latest Music Video For ‘STRAWS’

Science Of The Lamps are a vibrant collective from Liverpool, whose latest single, ‘STRAWS’ – and accompanying video – was released yesterday March 4.

Although it sounds upbeat, the incredibly catchy song was written while Kaya Herstad-Carney was experiencing a run of bad luck in her personal life. Born in Norway, Kaya uses music as a means by which to uplift the listener, and this is echoed in the video for ‘STRAWS’. The clip is a mix of live action, and animation, along with bright colours, together bringing the song to life.

Science Of The Lamps has its genesis in a restaurant in Prague, where it was dreamed up out of a mishearing of the title of the film, ‘Silence Of The Lambs’, and a great love of puns. Kaya has won awards for her songwriting, and is known for her four octave range and very dynamic expression. The group has been described by Music Mafia as having “music that proudly smacks their audience in the face, their theatrical flair and overwhelming passion for the music”. In addition to Kaya, the group also features gorgeous close harmonies from “The Usherettes”.
