HANSON are set to return to the UK next month, with their brand new music project, the String Theory Symphonic Tour. Kicking off at the Birmingham Symphony Hall on February 11, making their way around the UK with shows in Manchester, London, and Glasgow, as well as a smaller, symphony-free club date at Nottingham’s Rock City. The tour follows on from their sold out 25th Anniversary World Tour, and Greatest Hits release.
‘String Theory’ is HANSON’s most ambitious project to date, and features songs spanning the band’s entire career – from ‘MmmBop’, right through to ‘Where’s The Love’, ‘This Time Around’, and more, as well as brand new, or never released to the public songs, such as ‘Reaching For The Sky’, and ‘Siren Call’, which had its premiere in Rolling Stone Magazine:
“Siren Call” casts a fittingly dramatic mood with Zac Hanson providing lead vocals over a swell of strings and the thump of his drums. While the song has a distinctly orchestral feel, HANSON inject the song with a pop energy that comes out best in the brothers’ pristine harmonies.”
‘String Theory’ is an exciting amalgamation of song craftsmanship and symphonic majesty, in which the trio’s music has been framed, by way of a special collaboration with Academy Award winning arranger, David Campbell. The partnership resulted in a world tour featuring the band playing live with Symphony Orchestras, as well as a double studio album, which was released on November 9th.
Over their 25 year history, Isaac, Taylor, and Zac Hanson have made a massive mark in music, with their most famous single, the global smash ‘MmmBop’ ensuring their place in history when it was released in 1997. Their debut album, ‘Middle Of Nowhere’, saw the release of several top 40 charting singles, as well as numerous radio hits, a further five studio albums, multiple Grammy nominations, and record sales exceeding 16 million.
HANSON founded their own independent label, 3CG Records 15 years ago, a move which saw them positioned among the most successful independent bands to date, and they’ve since diversified their brand with the introduction of the Hanson Brothers Beer Company, and The Hop Jam Beer And Music Festival, based in their hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
‘String Theory’ is the start of the next era for HANSON, and conveys fully their story of aspiration and fortitude against all odds. HANSON’s music continues to resonate with authenticity; the group’s signature is to not chase trends, but rather focus on melodic artistry and musical integrity: the result is a group who are among the few artists of their generation who are able to continually reinvent and reimagine their music.
