Peppermint Heaven – ‘Stars In The Sky’

A far funkier track than we’re used to from Peppermint Heaven, latest release ‘Stars In The Sky’ gives off a vibe somewhere between David Bowie and Australian rock band, Icehouse.

The 80s vibe is still predominent, yet Peppermint Heaven have moved away from the new romantic style of their previous releases and introduced a dance element. It’s a pleasing change and makes for very enjoyable listening.

Juno and Spark have gained a cult following over the past few years and for good reason. Their 80s style indie pop is professionally and authentically crafted, with lyrics which are perfectly twinned with the music. This can be seen with ‘Stars In The Sky’, with lines such as “She had a dream and she shared it with me/wanted to perform on the BBC” sounding as if they could have been lifted directly from the songs of Duran Duran or Spandau Ballet. The sound is also pleasantly urgent, making it a great dance track or even if you want something upbeat for your work out or run.

Peppermint Heaven are working on a new album, set for release in the Autumn, as well as some new remixes which will feature collabs with some of the UKs newest and brightest production talents. We look forward to hearing what they come up with! You can find Peppermint Heaven and their music online on Facebook, Tumblr, and SoundCloud.
