Having played a one-off show together in December 2017, DIDI and ROOKES, two rising indie powerhouses are hitting the road together for what promises to be an unforgettable 2018 Spring Tour.
DIDI has played in bands for the last 11 years and it shows. Just 22, her confident, relaxed stage presence blends with years of song writing experience, resulting in an exhilarating and engaging live set as she performs her catchy, amusing and fierce self penned tunes. DIDI decided to perform solo after writing Sorry, a song which she just ‘had’ to perform live, in March 2017. As a producer she was able to record, mix and release in record time. She has since released four singles, attracted seven spins on BBC 6 Music and had her second single ‘Awkward’ premiered via DIVA Magazine: “DIDI stands out from the regular pop crowd as a fierce and fearless artist, following her epic debut single, ‘Sorry’, comes the brilliant new track ‘Awkward’. Enjoy a new anthem for the LGBTQ community.”
Hot on the heels of her appearance in the acclaimed BBC show ‘Queer Britain’ and the release of her debut single ‘The Heel of My Hand’, Rookes aims to bring the full force of her multi-instrumental skill, compelling song-writing and powerful voice to every live performance.
ROOKES uses Ableton and Novation’s Launchpad technology to trigger samples in her live shows, specialising in synchronising with organic and digital recordings captured/ developed via iOS devices (as well as using live instruments and looping).
