Rothwell is a new and upcoming artist, set to show the world what she can do in 2018.
This 23-year-old, Bristol born artist’s new single ‘Velvet Heart’ has all the elements to make a great summer hit, (I’m picturing the Pimms and the BBQ on the go already). Upbeat and alternative, the mix of electronic sound combined with a catchy chorus is guaranteed to get noticed. And with it so far reaching number 21 on Spotify’s UK Viral chart, it looks like it already has!
This single is explained by the artist as what happens when people fall in love, fast. “People fall in love too quickly and when they fall, they fall hard” she explains.
Growing up in Bristol, Rothwell taught herself guitar and wrote her own song at the tender age of 12. Since being discovered on YouTube, the singer songwriter has unleashed her sound on the world, supporting Justin Bieber in his sold out UK tour and already establishing herself in the festival world, having played both Hyde Park’s British Summer Time and Isle of Wight Festival.
With the Metro establishing her as an “Up-and-coming star” I think it is pretty safe to say we haven’t seen the last of Rothwell yet, and I dare I say it – the best might be still yet to come.
