Accompanied by a brilliantly coloured video filled with sexual imagery, Brazillian hip hop artist Karol Conka has released her new single, Lala’.
First rising to prominence in 2010 with her debut single ‘Boa Noite’, which she performed at the MTV Video Music Awards the following year in Brazil, Karol followed this with her album ‘Batuk Freak’, garnering many awards including Best Breakthrough Artist at the 2013 Multishow TV Channel Awards.
Karol continued her journey to stardom that year when she teamed up with the Portuguese hitmaker, Buraka Som Sistema, and Adidas, with the FIFA World Cup song, ‘Boa’. The track was later named the second best song of the World Cup by Billboard Magazine and therefore cemented Karol’s position as one of Brazil’s most successful emerging artists.
‘Lala’, from Karol Conka’s forthcoming album, ‘Farofei’, was produced by trap duo Tropkillaz, and co-written by Boss In Drama, who also co-produced it. The video was shot in Japan by renowned Brazillian producer, Kondzilla.
Using sexual imagery, such as flowers and citrus fruit, and dealing with them in a suggestive manner, combined with eastern sounding instrumentation, Karol rhymes her way through the song, which encorporates catchy hooks and swirling rhythms.
‘Lala’ is now available to stream and download on all major media providers. Karol’s new album, ‘Farofei’ will be available later this summer. You can find Karol Conka online on Faceook and Twitter, as well as her official website.
