Beekeeper is the indie rock project of Daniel Morton. The Brighton-based singer songwriter is set to release his very topical track, ‘Sunday Paper Politician’, this Wednesday, June 7, in time for the UK General Election.
With a sound that ironically mimics 90s alt rock and adds a touch of jazz and some bluesy slide guitar thrown in for good measure, ‘Sunday Paper Politician’ is more than just a catchy tune. It’s lyrically driven –
“Quit talking, and start saying something, quit walking, and start going somewhere”
and causes us to reflect on what we’re being told to believe. It’s a sobering comment on the sheeplike mentality of a lot of people, not just with regard to politics, but also in every day life situations.
‘Sunday Paper Politician’ comes ahead of Beekeeper’s upcoming album, ‘It’s A Miserable Life For Girls Who Can’t Play’, set for release at the end of this year.
