The Rising have announced their second album, ‘Moving On’, and are giving their fans a chance to get involved, by releasing it exclusively through PledgeMusic. Fans will be given the chance to look behind the scenes of the making of the album, as well as the opportunity to pre-order it on Vinyl, CD, or Digital Download – as well as get access to special merchandise and one-off experiences.
Pledgers will receive a copy of the album ahead of the public release, while merchandise opportunities includes handwritten lyrics, studio notes, and your chance to have your name in the album credits, as well as a studio session with the band, or even the band record your song.
As an independent band without a major label, The Rising have had to rely on their own funding to record, manufacture, and promote their music, which by its very nature is hugely expensive and has many limiting factors. Through PledgeMusic fans will have a hand in the completion of the album, and help them finish and promote it effectively.
The recording of ‘Moving On’ started back in March 2016, with the lead single ‘Last First Love’ released as an introduction to the band’s new sound. Written by Chris Logan and Chantelle McAteer, and recorded both in their home country of Ireland and in Nashville, ‘Last First Love’ was mixed by Grammy nominated Mills Logan, known for his work with Taylor Swift, and Luke Bryan. Pete Maher, who’s worked with the likes of U2, The Rolling Stones, Katy Perry, and Damien Rice, mixed the track. ‘Last First Love’ tells the story of how everyone wants the feeling of their first love to last forever, and the joy when it does. The last first love can apply to a relationship, a hobby – whatever your first love may be – even the love of music.
‘Last First Love’ premiered on US based Country music site, The Boot, going on to achieve over 25,000 hits to date on the band’s VEVO page. Additionally the track has enjoyed heavy radio play across the world, including the USA, UK, and Europe, as well as Ireland. The single marked a new chapter for the band, with the lineup changing to include Chantelle McAteer, Carla Crawford and Brian Mellors, as well as original members Chris Logan and Shane Watters.
They encountered a major setback in winter last year however when Chris was involved in a road accident, and sustaining some injuries. All recording was put on hold while Chris recovered, but they started up again in February this year, following up with a co-headline UK tour alongside Nashville artist, Dawson Reigns. The Rising were able to preview new tracks, as well as perform songs from their first album, ‘Coming Home’.
