PWR BTTM released their new track, ‘Big Beautiful Day’, on Valentine’s Day, February 14. They’re not your average musicians…
Drummer Liv Bruce met bandmate Ben Hopkins (vocals, guitars, some drums) at Bard College, upstate New York, and the pair moved to Brooklyn after graduation.
Back in 2015, Liv said in an interview with Nylon,
“songwriting is almost a form of magic, a crystal ball that show you the inside of your brain in flattering lighting and slow motion.”
The pair are set to release their album, ‘Pageant’, on May 12, and have filled their calendars with a tour in UK and France, starting on April 10, followed by a full US tour beginning at May 27. Until then, ‘Big Beautiful Day’ will have to satisfy fans as a preview for what to expect.
The video shows the alternative duo playing guitar in a hallway, eating waffles, and singing to a room full of young people – just like them – covered in face paint and glitter. The video is a declaration to meet hate by just being yourself. Hopkins says, “my advice is to look incredible as you make their lives regrettable by being your damn self.” The end of the video sees him biting into an apple and licking his lips, with the final cut back to the party’s aftermath.
