‘Regal’, by rap artist El Nomad, was inspired by the birth of his first child, and is symbolic of the phoenix that rises from the ashes.Â
‘El Nomad’, real name Dayvron Jones, found his passion for music while still in middle school, and was encouraged by both his parents, who had careers in the music industry. He found he enjoyed writing poetry, and had the opportunity to write music at school, and after a while, following a period of severe depression, El Nomad decided to express himself through hip-hop. ‘Regal’ started off as a melody, to which El Nomad added the hook, then the lyrics on top.
El Nomad finds his inspiration in an eclectic range of artists, including Earth, Wind & Fire, Rihanna, and Biggie Smalls. ‘Regal’ starts off with a steady D & B beat that underpins his emotive lyrics about the world he’s bringing his new daughter into, and how much he loves her and his family. It’s powerful and moving and a beautiful tribute to a tiny little girl, as his stream of consciousness lyrics outline why he must dedicate himself to her.
‘Regal’ is set for release on 30 December. You can find out more about El Nomad on his Twitter, Facebook, and Soundcloud pages.
