With her new album ‘KIN’ out this week and riding high in the mid-weeks, KT Tunstall releases the music video for her new single ‘Hard Girls’, featuring Spice Girl Melanie C.

Directed by Chris Turner, known for his work with Jay Z, and Hurts, the video stars Melanie and KT as opposing rally drivers, and was filmed at Essex Arena Speedway. Melanie says,

“I had so much fun working with KT on her new video! Make sure you check it out to see some serious girl power!”

For extra girl power, all the stunts were performed by a mother and daughter team, who grew up racing on the track owned by their father/grandfather.

‘KIN’ arrives ten years after the release of KT’s multi-platinum debut ‘Eye To The Telescope’, and KT sees it as her first album’s natural successor. Written by KT in LA, ‘KIN’ is a full bodied and blooded record that exemplifies the very best of guitar pop.

    About the author

There’s a lot of music out there - good music. At Essentially Pop our remit is that we cover music that deserves to be heard, with a particular focus on independent artists. That doesn't mean we won't cover your old favourites - rather we hope to give you some new favourites as well.

We no longer accept unpaid PR agency work. We believe the creative arts have value, and this includes writing. As always, we will write about artists who contact us - or who we contact - for free - but we can no longer work free of charge for PR agencies. We work hard, we put in a lot of hours writing, and we ask that you respect that. Contact us for our very reasonable rates.
