This week’s Essential Cover is in honour of St Valentine! Alt Soul singer, Sophie Ray gives us her take on Minnie Riperton’s ‘Loving You’ (and YES she can hit those high notes!).
Sophie, from Tring, in Hertfordshire, is a singer songwriter who accompanies her beautiful voice with the piano. A classically trained vocalist, her music is soul-influenced, and this has garnered her attention across the UK including on BBC Introducing.
Sophie has two EPs, ‘Treading Water’, and ‘Fiction Of You’, both of which are available to download from iTunes and as CDs from Bandcamp.
