Blackpool’s World-Famous iFest Lights Up With Stars

Blackpool iFest

Tomorrow Blackpool will be lighting up for Christmas with a weekend of music and entertainment, when the Blackpool Illuminations are switched on.

The weekend kicks off with Jedward, who are opening  Blackpool iFest at 5pm. Other headliners include Lawson, Professor Green and The Vamps.

The climax of the evening will be when Film Director Tim Burton switches on the world’s most famous Christmas lights at 9pm.

Festivities continue into Saturday and Sunday, with comedy and childrens’ events.

There will be a special show with DJ Pat Sharp, in conjunctions with Vintage TV. The TV and Radio Personality will present a fun night with some of our favourite vintage popstars, including Bananarama, Jason Donovan, Paul Young, Limahl, Owen Paul and T-Pau.

Sunday is comedy night. Pub landlord Al Murray will be calling last orders in an hour-long set. Plus there will be performances from Chris Ramsey, Alun Cochrane, Tiff Stevenson, Carl Hutchinson and Craig Campbell.

Limited tickets are still available  for the weekend from TicketMaster.

About the author

There’s a lot of music out there - good music. At Essentially Pop our remit is that we cover music that deserves to be heard, with a particular focus on independent artists. That doesn't mean we won't cover your old favourites - rather we hope to give you some new favourites as well.

We no longer accept unpaid PR agency work. We believe the creative arts have value, and this includes writing. As always, we will write about artists who contact us - or who we contact - for free - but we can no longer work free of charge for PR agencies. We work hard, we put in a lot of hours writing, and we ask that you respect that. Contact us for our very reasonable rates.
