Want to go to a music festival this summer, but don’t want to have to take your wellies? Well we might have the answer for you!
Malaga Festival is a brand new rock festival for the south of Spain on the weekend of 29-30 May, bringing together the spectacular surroundings of Malaga and some of the best rock and indie music from the UK and Spain.
La Cala de Mijas is one of the original fishing villages situated on the Costa del Sol, in the province of Malaga. Mijas is a charming village with a restored Moorish tower, a friendly village atmosphere and lots of appeal.
Located between the towns of Fuengirola and Marbella, close to popular urbanization of Calahonda, La Cala de Mijas is a very popular town with many good restaurants, shops, chemist and beachfront bars. Malaga International Airport is just 20 minutes drive away.
The town offers a nice easy paced life, not taken over completely by tourism, but with good facilities, a lovely golden sand beach and close to larger towns offering more action.
John Wood, Production Manager for the event, has previously worked with the likes of Paul Weller and Ocean Colour Scene, among others, and festivalgoers can be assured that the talent lined up for this event is no less spectacular.
Going off with a bang right from the start, Mijas Rocks features The Christians, Northside, Stone Foundation, Space, Rowetta from The Happy Mondays, The Lost Boys, The Arkanes, The Universal, Trio Valore, Hurricane 1 and many more exciting bands – and that’s just on Day 1! The festival promises to be an unforgettable weekend of fun, with fantastic music, great camping facilities, and affordable, good-quality food and refreshments. Add to that guaranteed warm weather in idyllic surroundings with easy access to Malaga Airport, Gibraltar and Marbella – if you want the next Glastonbury in the sun and a family friendly event, then don’t miss this!
