A funny thing happened last year at a creator workshop at YouTube Space London. Three creators, Tom Law from Cornwall, Matt DeFreitas from Surrey, and Spanish Currice, all prolific YouTubers, formed a bond over their common passion of music.
From that was born their collaboration, Cahoots, and their first single, “Shoes”, an upbeat tune, which was released on February 23 this year. It is believed to be a first for YouTube creators, and the trio have joined forces to create music, content, or whatever may come.
Tom has live stream collaborated with the likes of Ed Sheeran and John Legend, and has over 77,000 subscribers to his YouTube channel. Currice regularly gigs around Spain, and because of this has found his channel rack up a phenomenal 200K subscribers. Matt has just hit 50,000 subscribers, but has also over 4 million views from fans who watch his regular music and comedy uploads.
The guys are regularly meeting up both via live stream and in person, and are being guided along their journey by YouTube artist development label, PopShack. It’s an exciting time for everyone, with Cahoots involving other creators as well. Cahoots plans to release a single every month throughout 2015 – beyond that – will be down to Cahoots.
