Dutch/Northern Irish band Bearforce1 have announced their comeback as they enter the competition for Swiss Eurovision selection!
The band were discovered by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, who described them as “The Most Amazing Thing Ever”. Founded in 2007, the band has had several changes of membership, but lead vocalist Robert Brown has been the constant factor.
After becoming a YouTube sensation in with their ground-breaking “Bearforce1”, the band, who are known for their beards and…tight shorts…toured the US and Europe in 2007-2008, and released a Christmas single. They then took a step back, but have come out of hibernation with their song, “Action Man”.
Brown said:
“The idea of representing Switzerland would be a dream coming true for both myself and the band. It is also a thrilling thought that we could follow the footsteps of the mighty Céline Dion – even though our feet are probably a lot bigger.”
The first round to decide the Swiss entry is shared between the Swiss Jury and the results of an online poll which is open to everyone, regardless of country of origin. Check out all the entries here! Polls remain open until 17 November. Successful acts will go through to the finals on 31 January 2015.
